subversion by monsters |
The National Library of France preserves the unique copy of a strange book of monsters: 37 images mostly enigmatic and 18 pages of a text considered by its rare readers as illegible. They contain in fact one of the most virulent political criticism against the established order that could produce the Middle Ages. The monsters of men is a manuscript that distracts the monstrosity and its images to question the political and moral order of appearances. |
